Stanislav Pozdnyakov, a Solidarnost activist, was questioned by the police today in connection with an alleged fight involving him and a police officer at Tverskoe Police Department. Pozdnyakov is charged with use of force against a government official under Article 318 Part 1 of the Criminal Code, faces up to 5 years in prison. He was released but is set to appear for further interrogation on June 19.

On May 31 Pozdnyakov was arrested at Triumfalnaya Square and taken to Tverskoe Police Department, where he was requested to sign his military draft papers, which he refused. The incident he is charged for has allegedly taken place on 1 April 2012, when Pozdnyakov was arrested after the "while-ribbon strolls" at the Red Square and taken to the same Tverskoe Police Department. Nikolay Polozov will represent him in this case, Pozdnyakov says.
